The Sacred Heart Indians have a long standing tradition of winning. They have won 10 State Championships, 1955, 1956, 1959, 1960, 1986, 1992, 1996, 2000, & 2002. The Indians played for the state title in 2006 but lost a heart breaker in the final two minutes of the game 27-26.
Coach Pat Henke has been the head football coach at Sacred Heart Catholic School since 1981 and has won 6 state championships. Coach Henke has recorded over 200 wins and has been named TAPPS, Texas Association of Parochial & Private Schools, Allround Coach of the year in 1990 and 1991. In 2001 & 2003 he was named TAPPS – 2A Coach of the year.
20 Known Football Collegiate Athletes have played at Sacred Heart School.
MVP’s in football this year are Lee Kusy & P.J. Wood – offensive lineman, Jared Wesson – defensive player & Clayton Mikes - offensive player.
The Sacred Heart Indianettes volleyball team has won 10 State Championships, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 2003, 2004 & 2005. The last five state championships were won under head coach Wanda Orsak who has compiled a career record of 317 wins and 157 losses. Coach Orsak was named TAPPS 2A coach of the year in 1996 & 2004.
The Indianettes came up short in the 2006 season by losing at regional in a close 5 game match. They still had a great season, beat some very strong teams and finished the season with a 24-10 record.
The MVP in volleyball this year is Sara Steinocher.
Boys Basketball (schedule)
The Indians were very young in 2006-2007 with only 2 seniors on the team. They were coached by David Halata, who in his first year at Sacred Heart. They missed the play-offs by one game and they should be a much improved team in 2007-08.
Adam Vanghaus was named MVP in basketball at the all awards banquet this year.
Girls Basketball
The Indianettes have been very successful the past 4 seasons under the direction of Coach Amy Powell. This is Coach Powell’s sixth season as head Coach at Sacred Heart. The Indianettes have reached the TAPPS State Tournament the last 4 consecutive years and have recorded over 20 wins in each of the last 4 seasons. Amy have has won over 130 games in just 6 years. She was named TAPPS 3A Coach of the Year for 2006-07.
The MVP in Basketball this year is Michelle Sevcik.
Girls Track
The Indianettes track team has had many state qualifiers to the state meet. Under the instruction of Coach Wanda Orsak the girls have been TAPPS state champions in 1987, 1988, 1989 and 2004.
The 2007 track team was the TAPPS 3A state runner-up. Gold medal winners were Kasey Bludau in the 800 m run and Emily Gallia in the long jump.

Boys Track
Sacred Heart has a history of athletic success at the state level. For 2007, Sacred Heart acquired Coach Joe Cash who led teams to three UIL Stte Track & Field Championships and numerous district titles. In 2007, the Indians began revitalizing the track & field program with fifteen members on the team (7 freshmen, 6 sophomores, 1 junior and 1 senior) none of which had competed in high school track before. To gain experience we competed in three meets prior to the district level. These beginners scored 135 points at the district meet; ten qualified to the regional meet in seventeen different slots from twelve different events. Eight of these qualified to the state meet. Our goal for the future is to become a competitive team at the regional and state levels with the opportunity to win state titles.

Tennis - Girls and Boys
The Sacred Heart Tennis teams enter their 14 th year of competition in 2007. Coach Sandy Zaruba is the coach for both the girls and boys teams. The tennis teams have advanced 101 players to the state tournament during these years. This year the doubles team of senior Sara Steinocher and sophomore Serenna Remmers captured a first place medal and lead the Indianettes to the first TAPPS 3A State Tennis Title in the history of Sacred Heart Catholic School. Emma Gray and Anna Hemmi placed 3rd at the state tournament. The Indians doubles team of Wade Brown and Matthew Herndon were runner-ups at the state meet in Waco, TX.

Golf - Girls and Boys
Sacred Heart Golf entered its’ 16 th season in 2007. The women’s team has been coached by Betty Gutierrez and the men’s team by Virgil Gutierrez. Betty Gutierrez has retired from coaching, 2004 being her last year. During her tenure as the women’s coach, the Indianettes have won two TAPPS State Titles, 1997 and 2003. The men’s team coached Virgil Gutierrez were the TAPPS State Runner-ups in 1996. Since the retirement of his wife, Coach Virgil has takes over the coaching duties for both teams. In the past 15 years the Sacred Heart Golf has had either one or both teams in the TAPPS State Tournament. Coach Gutierrez said his goal for each year is to represent our school with Sportsmanship, Pride, Attitude, Spirit, and Love we have for our school.
This year the Indianettes placed 5 th overall at the TAPPS 3A Golf Championship held at Olympia Hills gold course in Schertz, TX. Team members were Janelle Bludua, Alyson Klmitchek, Amanda Masters, Taylor Wagner and Kelsey Hartenstiener. Representing the Indians as Medalist were Kevin Hartenstiener and Adam Venghaus.

Baseball
The Sacred Heart Indians are under the direction of Coach Mark Migl. The Indians have won TAPPS State Champions in baseball in the years1990, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001 & 2002.

Softball
The Sacred Heart Softball team is under the direction of Coach Pat Henke. The Softball team won the district championship in 2006 & 2007. The Indinettes have won seven state championships in softball 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2003 & 2007. This year the Indianettes won TAPPS 3A State Championship, they finished the year with a 22-7 record.
MVP’s in softball this year are Emily Gallia, Michele Sevcik & Sara Steinocher.
Swim Team
The swim team is back again under the direction of their coach Shirley Buchanan. Mrs. Buchanan had nine girls on the swim team this year. The girls placed 3 rd at Regional and 7 th at the TAPPS 3A State Meet.
MVP for the swim team is Tiffany Buchanan.
