In Kindergarten we work throughout the year in the SuperKids reading program. We learn all the letters and sounds, sight words, learn to decode words, take spelling tests, and begin and learn basic reading skills. We also work on handwriting skills and forming letters correctly and learn to write sentences. Math lessons include learning basic adding and subtracting, telling time to the hour, counting and recognizing money, and patterning, ordinal positions, and writing and recognizing numbers. We strengthen our faith by sharing many bible stories and learning prayers and praying the rosary. We also enjoy learning through our many themes such as farms, insects, zoo animals, apple trees, and the four seasons, just to name a few. Fun field trips include the Corn Maze and the Victoria Zoo. Sacred Heart Kindergarten is a fun and exciting place to learn and grow!
